What you are playing
The challenge: sixteen wins, no dropped matches
Draft an all-time IPL XI and chase a simulated 16-win season: fourteen league wins, Qualifier 1 and the Final. Free to play, with no account.
Each spin draws from the franchise-season cards included in the game. Pick a player who fits an empty role, keep at most four overseas players and never select the same person twice. A wicketkeeper can fill a batting slot, but choosing one there does not fill the separate keeper slot.
Before your first spin
Four things that decide most drafts
Read the shape before the first spin
The formation you choose fixes eleven jobs, and every later spin is judged against the ones still open. Decide whether you want an extra all-rounder or a specialist spinner now, while the whole board is still available to you.
Spend overseas places slowly
Four is a hard ceiling. Spending all four places early can make a later overseas card ineligible, even if that player would fit an empty role.
Count your twenty overs early
Batting depth is easy to accumulate by accident; a full bowling plan is not. By the halfway point of the draft you should be able to name who takes the new ball, who bowls in the middle and who is trusted at the death.
Take the reroll when the board is wrong
Easy and Normal allow one reroll in total; Hard allows none. Consider it when the available cards cannot solve an open role, rather than only chasing a favourite name.
The full rule set — formations, the five roles, difficulty levels and how the simulation weighs a squad — is written up in how to play, and the longer strategy pieces live in the guides.
Ways to play
Four modes, one draft engine
ClassicThe open archive
This is a game format, not a reconstruction of every historical IPL season. Your XI joins a simulated league; ratings, opponent strengths, scorecards and standings are game outputs rather than official cricket records.
DailyOne shared set of spins
Each date and stage share a seed. Your open roles and earlier choices can change which draws are eligible. Three stages, resetting at 00:00 IST.
LoyaltyOne franchise only
Build the XI from a single team’s history. Far harder, because no one franchise has covered every role brilliantly in every era.
Era WarOne period against another
Restrict the available cards to one era and test the resulting XI in the game model. This does not establish which real-world era was best.
Questions
Before you start
Do I need an account to play?
No. The game is free and runs entirely in your browser with no sign-up, no email and no login. Your progress, Daily streak and Crown cabinet are stored locally in the browser you play in, so clearing site data or switching device starts a fresh cabinet.
How long does one season take?
A run contains eleven selections, fourteen league fixtures and any playoffs you qualify for. Time depends on how long you spend comparing cards; the reveal can be skipped after simulation starts.
What actually counts as 16-0?
Fourteen league wins, then Qualifier 1, then the Final — sixteen wins with no defeats, no washouts and no second route through the playoffs. Finishing 15-1 is an excellent season, but it is not a perfect one.
Is the result random?
Partly, and deliberately. Your XI sets the quality and balance; opponent strength, conditions and match variance then affect each fixture. A high rating is not a guarantee of winning a match or a title.
Can I play a specific IPL franchise or era?
Yes. Loyalty mode restricts the draft to a single franchise, and Era War puts one period of IPL history against another. Both use the same season cards as Classic mode.
Is this an official IPL game?
No. 16-0 is an independent fan-made project with no affiliation to the IPL, the BCCI or any franchise. It uses player-season game cards, designed ratings and simulated results, with no official logos or photographs.
